DESCRIPTION LOS SUEÑOS PD SWAT AFTER ACTION REPORT

LOS SUEÑOS POLICE DEPARTMENT
METROPOLITAN SWAT DIVISION
AFTER ACTION REPORT — 213 APARTMENTS

Officers Duck and Wolf responded to the 213 apartment complex and made entry via the second-story stairwell. While ascending, an armed suspect wielding a knife charged up the stairs toward Officer Duck.

Officer Duck held position and aimed for the face as per the "gospel of brass" as Officer Wolf verbally referenced previous similar encounters. The suspect continued advancing. Officer Duck discharged her weapon, striking the suspect multiple times. The suspect collapsed before reaching the officers. Threat neutralized.

During the engagement, Officer Wolf attempted to provide supporting fire but unintentionally struck Officer Duck in the arm. Officer Duck verbally indicated injury. Officer Wolf immediately questioned the source of the round before incorrectly suggesting a nearby detained civilian may have been responsible. The civilian, who was restrained at the time, loudly denied involvement. "I DO NOTHING" was stated.

Moments later, while officers were recovering from the exchange and maintaining security, Officer Duck was struck by gunfire from an unidentified direction and went down. The scene transitioned to Officer Wolf’s body camera as he continued operations.

SUMMARY:
✔ Knife-wielding suspect neutralized
✔ One officer injured by friendly fire
✔ One restrained civilian confirmed uninvolved
✔ Additional hostile presence resulted in officer down
✔ Scene remained active at time of report

Los Sueños SWAT reminds all personnel that stairwells remain one of the most dangerous environments for close-quarters operations, and target identification remains critical — especially when your partner is standing directly in front of you.
