Androids and synths are both synthetic beings, but androids are typically fully mechanical or robotic, while synths, especially Generation 3, are primarily organic with some mechanical components, making them more like cyborgs. In the "Alien" universe, androids like Bishop and David are designed to closely resemble humans, whereas in the "Fallout" series, synths are often created from human DNA and can be nearly indistinguishable from humans.
