Operation Mockingbird, a covert CIA program that infiltrated the media to control public opinion. From the 1950s through the Cold War, the CIA manipulated news outlets, embedding operatives within major newspapers, magazines, and broadcast networks. It's existence is denied but it is active still to this day.
