Days Gone is an open-world action-adventure survival horror game set in a harsh wilderness two years after a devastating global pandemic. Developed by Bend Studio.

A global pandemic occurred which decimated the globe, turning millions of humans into feral cannibalistic creatures, called Freakers. The remnants of humanity have abandoned towns to seek refuge in the wilderness creating safe zones.

Set in a post-apocalyptic Oregon two years after the global pandemic, Days Gone follows the story of Deacon St. John, a former outlaw of a biker gang. After discovering that there is a chance his wife Sarah is still alive, Deacon, now a bounty hunter, embarks on a quest to reunite with her.

In this playthrough we cover:

It’s Not Safe Here: Deacon travels to Marion Forks to track down a missing girl named Lisa after receiving a lead from Tucker. He navigates a town infested with Rippers and Swarmers, eventually discovering the traumatized girl hiding in a crawlspace.

Lots of Sick People: After a tense rescue, Deacon must clear the immediate threats to secure Lisa's extraction back to the Belknap region. He guides her through the Marian Forks river town and must defeat a huge bear and more threats as they ride back to Tucker's camp.

It Was On Me: Deacon revisits the site of the Old Pioneer Cemetery to retrieve his old Mongrels MC vest, which he left behind during the initial chaos of the outbreak. The mission is heavy with nostalgia and guilt as he reflects on his choice to put Sarah on the NERO chopper. However, the emotional moment is cut short when he is ambushed by Rippers, forcing him to fight his way out of the hallowed ground.

Everyone Has to Work: At the Hot Springs camp, Tucker tasks Deacon with hunting down a camp deserter who has fled into the dangerous outlands. This mission emphasizes the brutal social contract of the survivor camps where "no work" means "no food." Deacon tracks the fugitive to a fortified position, ultimately deciding the man's fate while grappling with the harsh leadership style of Tucker.

It’s a Rifle Not a Gun: Deacon learns how to hunt dear from Copeland (even though he's done so already). By shooting and tracking. He can now gather meat from the deer bodies as well as wolves and bears.

Making Contact: Deacon spots a NERO helicopter in flight and pursues it to investigate the possibility that Sarah might still be alive. He stealthily confront O'Brian avoiding the other NERO researchers in hazmat suits. This mission introduces the evolving nature of the virus and reignites Deacon's obsession with finding his lost wife.

They Won’t Let Me Leave: After returning to the Hot Springs camp, Deacon finds Lisa struggling to adapt to the forced labor and rigid rules imposed by Tucker. Lisa begs Deacon to take her away, revealing the darker, more exploitative side of the survivor settlements. Deacon is forced to balance his promise to keep her safe with the reality that there are few truly "safe" places left.

The Rest of Our Drugs: Deacon tracks down a thief who stole a crate of narcotics intended for the Lost Lake infirmary. The pursuit leads him into a chaotic skirmish between rival scavengers and Freakers, requiring tactical use of the environment. Recovering the drugs is vital for Addy to treat the wounded, further cementing Deacon’s reputation as a reliable, if reluctant, bounty hunter.

I Brought You Something: Deacon finds Lisa a thunderegg, a geode-like rock, from the Belknap Crater visitors' center, knowing it was something her father once collected and that she enjoyed hiking with him. The gesture is meant as a comforting token, symbolizing a connection to her past and a small attempt to ease her trauma. Though Lisa appreciates the gift, she still asks Deacon to take her back to Marion Forks, which he cannot do.
