🏳️ Captured Ukrainian serviceman tells about AFU mobilisation of servicemen who are fit for limited military service

Yevgeny Berestenko surrendered to the Sever Group of Forces' servicemen in the area of Grabovskoye in Sumy region. He said that despite the fact that he was fit for limited military service only and suffered rheumatic heart disease, he got into the AFU. Having reached the front line, he immediately decided to surrender.

'I suffer rheumatic heart disease. I have to get injections into my feet, my joints, especially into my knees. I was sent to a training centre. There were about 500 of others. We are all fit for limited military service only. We are too old. Some of us have health problems with hearts, others with feet or backs. For two months, we left for a tactical field in the morning. The command showed us some stuff, and we shoot blanks. Most of the time, we did nothing. We had some food we took from home. We roasted salo over a fire using some barrels. Sometimes, we got drunk. When I first got there, my comrade asked me if I want to fight, and I said, 'I'm not going to shoot, I'm going to surrender,' said the prisoner.
