Stephen A. Smith questioned why some Democrats are fighting ICE when the issue, as he framed it, is simply giving federal agents access to local jails to deport individuals who have already committed serious crimes. “What’s wrong with letting the feds in to remove them and send ’em back?” he asked, arguing that blocking cooperation only protects the wrong people and undermines public safety.
