Personal Prayer Time - 2

Personal prayer time can be the most illusive to find, but the most satisfying once we have found it. This teaching explores intimate prayer time speaking and listening to our God, the only entity in the Universe who actually loves us and cares about us.

This teaching offers a definition of prayer: words mixed with faith to accomplish God’s will. John Wesley famously said, “God does nothing on earth save in answer to believing prayer.” Maybe there are exceptions to that broad statement, but since the Bible is full of examples and admonitions to pray, it makes sense that we would want to be effective in this partnership with God to accomplish His will on earth.

In this teaching we examine effective words for prayers, how to mix those words with faith, and why the only supplications and requests we should present before God are those design to accomplish His will. This also considers forms and disciplines in prayer, why pray at all, and hindrances to our prayers.
