🌅 Day 36 — Using Our Words for Good, Not Evil

As I read today’s passages, one theme stood out clearly:

Words matter.

📖 Today’s Readings
🕊️ Proverbs 4:1–9 – words that pass on wisdom
👑 Matthew 24:1–31 – words that prepare and strengthen
🌿 Job 35–37 – words that can miss the mark

Proverbs shows us a father using his words to shape the next generation. Wisdom is passed down through teaching, encouragement, and faithful instruction. The words we speak can guide a life—or mislead one.

In Matthew 24, Jesus speaks serious prophetic warnings. But His purpose is not to frighten His followers — it is to prepare them. He calls believers to watchfulness, endurance, and hope. Even when Christ speaks hard truths, His words are meant to steady hearts, not stir up panic.

Then in Job, we see Elihu speaking many confident words about God — yet without true understanding of Job’s suffering. Scripture reminds us that even religious-sounding speech can become harmful when it lacks humility and compassion.

Together, today’s readings teach a simple but powerful lesson:

• Words can build up or tear down
• Words can prepare or confuse
• Words can comfort or wound

God calls us to be careful stewards of what comes out of our mouths.

Before we speak, we should ask:

Will this help someone grow?
Will this bring peace or create fear?
Will this reflect the heart of Christ?

🙏 “Lord, guard my tongue. Help me speak truth with love, wisdom with humility, and encouragement with sincerity.”
