Zoot Wetsuit Comparison - Manta, Float and Flex

In this video, I tested out all three wetsuits and discussed my thoughts on all three.

For expert swimmers, either Float or Flex will do. Flex fits like a dream, but the Float will 100% be sufficient if you don't have the money. If you really need to save money and cold isn't an issue, then Manta Sleeveless will work.

For intermediate swimmers, just get the Float and don't worry about anything. The float has enough flexibility to improve your technique and not be held back by the arms.

For beginner swimmers, get the Manta and don't worry. If you're swimming slower than 2:00/100yds, this wetsuit won't be getting in your way at all and the extra buoyancy in the hips and legs will be a nice bonus.

Hi! I'm John Ferrell. I swam competitively from the third grade until I graduated from BYU swimming on their team for 4 great years. I was a HS All American and first team all conference in the Mountain West Conference when at BYU. I have been private coaching since 2013 and been competing in Triathlons since 2019. Currently, I race with Team Zoot and am a member of Form Racing's Competition Team. I also am an ambassador for H20 Audio. I'm blessed to have a great eye for technique and if you want me to review your stroke for free, please email me on the email featured on the video.

I believe in swimming faster through better technique rather than grinding out massive amounts of yardage. For triathletes, their pool time is VERY limited during the week. I use dryland technique drills to augment pool time to help build muscle memory.

H2O Audio - https://h20audio.com/ – I love their headphones for running and swimming. I rock their RIPT Ultra headphones during my bike streams. Use offer code “ferrellswimtech” for 20% off your order.

Dynamic Triathlete - https://www.dynamictriathlete.com/ – Stretching is an amazing way to increase your swimming capabilities. Most runners and cyclists suffer from tight hip flexors which greatly hamper swim kicking and body positioning. Dynamic Triathlete has daily 15 min. stretching routines that are designed to minimize injury and enhance recovery. They have monthly and yearly subscription options. Use offer code “Swim” for 10% off your subscription.
Sneak Energy - https://sneakenergy.com/ – Waking up stupid early sucks. Coffee is hard on your stomach. Try something else instead. Sneak energy is based in the UK and offers one of the cleanest energy powders on the market. No artificial colors or flavors and zero sugar as well. It works great as an “energy shot” where you take about a quarter scoop in a small cup and take it right before workout as a “pre-workout”. Great flavors and they’re always coming out with new stuff, so you’ll find something you like. If you’re interested, let me know and I’ll email you with a 20% off code (I don’t just have an easy-to-use code).
