“Captain Marvel” created an affect on the sales of the songs on its soundtrack. According to Comicbook.com, the film created a nostalgia for the music of the 1990s. Nielsen Music reported that songs on the soundtrack saw a 464 percent sales gain in the U.S. Songs like “Celebrity Skin,” “Connection” and “Just a Girl” received a lot of attention. Between March 7 and March 10 the songs sold 9,000 combined downloads.
