'This Is Us' Creator Has A Personal Connection To 'Game Of Thrones'

According to CNN.com, Dan Fogelman, the creator of 'This Is Us' shared a story about the author of 'Game of Thrones' George R.R. Martin before the premiere of the show final season. Him and a friend met Martin serendipitously for pizza one evening. Fogelman's friends name was Alex and is a huge fan of Martin. Alex also had stage 4 lung cancer at the time, and said meeting Martin was a beautiful life moment he didn't plan. Fogelman dedicated the show's final season premiere to his friend, Alex.
