New weird animal species discovered that eats rocks

Lithoredo Abatanica, a very strange new animal discovered in the Philippines, has a heavy diet - namely rocks. This animal was first discovered in the Abatan River on Bohol Island. That is why the animal is named Lithoredo Abatanica and it is related to the shipworm. Shipworms traveled on ships and ate the hard wood. Lithoredo Abatanica crunches the rock, which the animal then eats, digests and expels as a fine sand. Researchers are curious about its digestion.
