The carpets have held the Guinness World record since 2006 for the largest ephemeral carpet display. 20 artisans (Artearena - sand art) were making this carpet. The sand of 27 different colors was collected from the Teide National Park also from around 3000m high. This year is a 100th anniversary of the carpet displays. The theme was The Word of God through the ages.
It was so beautiful to see what can be created from the sand and how talented are those artist to make such realistic pictures on the ground just with sand, flower leaves and seeds.
We are glad to share this beautiful event with you. Thanks for watching and sharing, DT Smile Love.
