Watermelon explodes after rubber band science experiment
If you, like millions of people, once paused your daily activities to ask yourself: "What will happen if I put elastic bands in a watermelon, one after the other, until I can't take it anymore?" For a couple of promises of science they were given the task of answering this question that has bothered mankind so much. It is not surprising, much less revealing ... perhaps even for many it is more than predictable what their eyes are about to see, but we must thank the young scientists: having had the patience (and time) necessary for the activity That nothing contributes to humanity. Amazing!
Two men did a rather interesting experiment, they wanted to know how many elastic bands were needed to blow up a watermelon, so they were in charge of filming a video that showed the change of the watermelon as more and more elastic bands were placed. You can see how the two men are very disciplined and put the rubber bands in a very appropriate way, so that the pressure does not alter the integrity of the watermelon, but after so much waiting, the watermelon finally exploded and the experiment turned out to be quite interesting for many people. We need more experiments like this!
Many people around the world do experiments at home, since active learning is not something new, nor is it that a teacher proposes to conduct experiments for elementary school children in class, but it is the impulse that educational institutions receive to promote activities in the classroom, as a main part in the acquisition of knowledge. Experiments are very important both at home and in the classroom!
All topics are likely to be approached from a practical point of view, but the natural social sciences are especially prone to this. Through entertaining and simple scientific experiments in class, students participate in learning as active and even proactive agents if we give them the opportunity to propose the curriculum. In addition to the benefits listed above, classroom experimentation is linked to long-term content fixation without using too much memorial effort. Never stop learning, because in this way you will be increasingly intelligent!
The experiments are born with the very existence of the human being on our planet, as a result of his desire to transform the surrounding matter, but the rigorous chemical experimentation, the one of scientific character, is much more recent and counts, as is known. , with about three centuries. Among the many important experimental milestones that have been reached at this time, it is not easy to select which have been the most prominent or the most important for the progress of the discipline. However, as in other scientific areas, and in other facets of everyday life, in Chemistry there are classifications, "lists of successes", in which the inevitable subjectivity in an act of these characteristics is compensated by the prestige of the agency or institution that drives them, and that of the people who perform them. Everyday you learn something new!
