Building collapse investigation might not be complete for months

By 7 p.m. Monday, six hours after a half-built downtown structure partially collapsed with construction workers inside, firefighters had removed four injured men from the site and begun chipping away at concrete in hopes of extricating a fifth. It takes seconds for something to go wrong in a construction project like this. It can take months or more to figure out what, why, and how to stop it in the future.
