New Baby China Goosling in Bathtub

Reptile Rescue
Brought him in for a little bit to bond with him a little more, because if he is outside exclusively with the other geese he will bond more with them and be more wild. I want him to grow up being my friend and coming to me when I call, the way that Fynn did... None of the other geese, even Maui, though I raised her, love me that much and they don't come to me when I call. I miss Fynn... 😢

Raptor Rescue (sort of) - Juvenile Mississippi Kite

Reptile Rescue
Funny & Cute Animals - The calls I get may be related to any kind of wildlife in trouble, not just reptiles. Many local supporters trust me first to take the call, no matter what the animal, because I put in the effort to make sure it's done right and safely for the animal. In this case, sadly, other than being reportedly a little dehydrated, there was nothing wrong with this little raptor. It was just a baby Kite, probably waiting for its mother to return. I wanted to return him to where he was found, but the bird rescue already had him and didn't want to send him back.

Helping Out One of My Gooses

Reptile Rescue
One of the Four Horsemen, as I call them, who are 4 domesticated geese who were dumped here together a few years ago and who I now take care of...backup feed for them, check them for injuries and illness. etc. on a regular basis. They originally belonged to the owner of the Coyote Ranch Resort/Jellystone RV park south of Wichita Falls, but she up and decided she didn't want them, because they begged for food from the customers too much, so she dumped them here. I used to work with her on her other animals, because she more or less has a petting zoo out there, but over this and her regard for her chickens, I severed ties with her. She's chincy and never donated a thin dime for my help, even rehabbing some of her resident chickens and giving her extended direction on improvements to winter housing for her sulcata tortoise. She's the kind of person who doesn't hesitate to collect animals as an attraction if it brings her business, but doesn't care what happens to them if they're any kind of inconvenience. I just can't stand feckless people like that. Upon me telling her that her staff were leaving for the night and not putting the chickens up in their coops, and I had run away a bobcat out there one night stalking the chickens...she just sort of shrugged and said they were "just chickens", and it was no big deal if she loses a few. Fuck that bitch.

Rescued & Relocated Sweet Goose ^_^

Reptile Rescue
This is Lily, a rescued and relocated female Chinese goose. She was dumped, alone, at local lake that was not a goose friendly or safe location for her. I brought her to another location about 10 miles closer where there are other geese for her to socialize with, and where I can check on her every day. You can help animals like Lily by making a donation today.

Night Vision Camera with the Geese

Reptile Rescue
Meeting up with one of my goose flocks to feed them on their island after dark, and trying out the new camcorder with night vision. It's good to about 10-15ft. only, but it doesn't disturb the birds the way that visible light from the phone camera does.

Happy Gooses ^_^

Reptile Rescue
Water Lily is a rescue goose who was relocated for his safety to a private pond, from where he had been dumped, alone, in a city park pond, where the local city and state officials had a history of mass exterminating all the geese that appear there so they can keep it pristine for fishing. He was relocated about 10 miles to another place where there was another Chinese goose who needed a friend :-) Initially, I believed Water Lily to be a female, but he was still young and had not developed his voice yet. Some months later it became obvious that Lily was a boy, but I didn't want to change his name, because he was already responding to it.

Rude Goose Won't Let Me Talk!

Reptile Rescue
I was trying to make a video, but I had to keep starting over, because Fynn kept talking over me! Fynn was a sweet male Chinese Goose who was abandoned at a remote small pond when his petting zoo went out of business. He was lonely where he was because few people visited him in that place, and he was losing weight and in danger of starving. He was a domesticated barnyard goose who was used to people interaction and relying on people to feed him every day. I moved him to Sikes Lake in Wichita Falls, where I cared for him for the next 2 years, until he was tragically killed. This video is in tribute to him. The goose who was my best friend. I saw him almost every day, and he was always happy to see me. ^_^

Fynn in Da House! ^_^

Reptile Rescue
(2018) Fynn, my rescue Brown Chinese Goose, whom I brought home from the local lake that I had relocated him to for safety earlier that year. But he was lonely, and it was a very cold New Years' holiday, so I just picked him up and brought him back home with me for a little while. I would bring him home with me from time to time if the temperature was going to be in the teens or so overnight. I know he wasn't necessarily unsafe out there as long as he had calories and somewhere to get out of the wind, but I could tell when he was cold, because he would immediately sit down on his feet rather than stand when he was on shore. And if I could make him more comfortable for a night or two, then that was okay. He didn't mind coming home with me in this time before he had adopted and become a family member of a flock of Canada geese. During this first year after I had relocated him to Sikes Lake, and after the other Chinese geese like him had rejected him, Fynn preferred me to not leave him, and he gladly came home with me. He wouldn't stay all the time in the house. He usually would stay in the backyard and bathe in a kiddie pool by day, and I'd put him up in the storage building with the tortoise on a bed of hay and oil radiator at night. When it wasn't going to be so bad overnight again, I'd take him back to the lake. He was my best friend for the few years that I knew him...

Baby Chickens! ^_^

Reptile Rescue
Sadly, only 2 baby chicks surviving of the 7 which I rescued from the feed store last week that did not look like they were doing well. These two are eating and drinking well now, and growing. The buff colored one was in fact the first one I expected to die, because in the trough in the store, it was on its back with feet in the air for at least the 10 minutes between when I checked on it and then came back to check again. It had an acorn sized clump of poop and bedding stuck to its behind and was being pecked on its feet and head by the other chicks. It would not stand up like the others when I tapped on the side of the trough. But after cleaning it up and giving it individual attention, it's bounced back very well and survived, when some of the others whom I thought had better chances did not. I think the yellow one is a Bantam, if their labelling at the store can be trusted, and the other one has the feathers around its feet and 5 toes, and I think it's a Sultan or maybe a Silkie cross because while it has the feathered feet and 5 toes, it doesn't have black skin. IDK if that changes as it gets older, but its skin is kinda gray right now. Not yellow and not black.

Rescuing Baby Goose Caught by Snapping Turtle!

Reptile Rescue
A gosling that was part of an extended family of Canada geese I was feeding and monitoring daily. I had been taking care of them for the second year. This family was formerly being protected and led by my rescue Chinese goose, Fynn, but he was killed just before their 2nd year's babies hatched. They were subsequently adopted and being protected by another Chinese goose here named Fred, after he lost his mate Rita about a month after Fynn was killed. I would typically feed the family with their babies in the evening, when they were on the shore nearest the hotel, and as the sun was setting, Fred would lead them to their overnight spot near the bend in the middle of the lake. They were just offshore a short distance on their way to their nighttime spot when the snapping turtle struck.

I Brought an Injured Lake Goose Home! ^_^

Reptile Rescue
Snowy in da house ❤
My sweet White Chinese boy, Snowy, had to come back home with me this evening for another rehab of his infected and swollen foot. 😞
He last had to come here for the same thing at Christmas 2018, and he stayed into January until he was good enough to send back out to the lake. I've been monitoring his foot recently because it looked like it was swelling up again, but he was moving well on it, and it didn't appear to be getting worse. But I went to see my Sikes geese last night for the first time in a few days, and it was swollen slightly larger than last time I saw him, and he is starting to limp a little. I hate to have to confine him, and I scantly have enough room to make him comfortable for as long as he will probably have to stay again, but I had to go out there and get him and bring him back. Can't risk him loosing his foot or getting sepsis, and it's not really something that can be treated well with him remaining at the lake. I knew it might come back, but two years is a long delay for it to come back up again. No doubt some infectious material was left behind in the foot because I opted not to treat it surgically, because of the risks of excessive bleeding and having to sedate him was too risky, but it made it more likely that the same infection would return.
So, YAY! Now I'm gunna have a disgruntled Chinese goose back in the house for rehab and trying to keep him from causing a noise complaint. LOL

Snowy in Rehab, Day 2

Reptile Rescue
Snowy, a male White Chinese goose who normally lives at a local lake, is one member of a flock of dumped domesticated geese that I take care of on site. I perform backup feeding and do welfare checks on them. I have been monitoring Snowy more closely lately, because his left leg and foot became swollen again in recent days. He had a case of "bumble foot" on this same foot exactly 2 years ago, and I had to bring him home for several weeks of treatment back then, but he's done well in the meantime until now. Last time, it got bad enough in a short period that he was unable to walk and get out of the water to come eat. I had to go to the water's edge and net him. This time, I'm bringing him in for treatment a little sooner, and I hope I can knock it out finally this time. He is receiving the investigational research peptide BPC-157 via injection, as well as IM Enrofloxacin and IM Amoxicillin, and then daily topical application of DMSO.

A Feral Parakeet at My Feeder!

Reptile Rescue
This male Budgie (Parakeet) escaped from someone at a local pet store about a year and a half ago. He's been living in my neighborhood ever since. This is his second winter that he's surviving. He usually flies with the finches and sparrows, but sometimes on his own. He flies about the neighborhood squawking and chirping, from one place to the other. I usually see or at least hear him flying past every day. For some time I was trying to capture him to rescue him for his own good, because larger birds and birds of prey will go after them and try to kill them. About 6 years ago rescued a green female parakeet at my feeder who was being run to exhaustion by a Blue Jay. I had to chase her across 2 roof tops before catching her with a net. She was very winded and not a great flier. She stayed with me the next 5 or so years until she died last year. But this little boy has proven to be a survivor, and he is a very strong flier! I witnessed him evading a hawk just a couple of months ago above my house! It chased him in circles for several laps before the hawk gave up and landed in of my trees, which scared away all the doves. But, the parakeet flew away into the sunset, squawking and chirping happy to be alive and come to the feeder another day.
He's experienced in surviving US winters now and evading predators, and is obviously much happier being free in the wild than being a pet in someone's cage. I decided to abandon my attempts to trap him. I will just take care of him by making sure he has the right food every day. He needs a special food that has a high amount of millet in it, because he's too small to be able to eat the larger and tougher milo seeds that are often favored by doves, pigeons, etc. and that makes up the bulk of cheaper bird seeds.

Parakeet in a Blizzard

Reptile Rescue
As I was returning home from feeding the geese and the snow was coming down, and the temperature gauge read "6F", I was lamenting that I hadn't seen my little feral boy parakeet ever since this super cold wave actually began days ago, with daytime freezing temperatures, and temps at night in the teens. As I rounded the block home I was looking out at all the more winter adapted birds, like the doves huddling together in a tree, and I thought to myself "poor little boy"...because I didn't think he could be doing well in this, if he was still alive. 😞 My feeder was empty already, since filling it just before I left around noon, so I refilled it again, because I can't stand the sight of seeing a cold little bird land there in weather like this, and look down into the pan to see nothing there. That breaks my heart. So, I refilled it again as soon as I got home and just by chance, I peeked through the blinds a few minutes later. And this tough little Aussie bird continues to surprise! 😌 Look at him! He's out there making it in this weather too! Nothing can stop this little Budgie. I've watched him evade a hawk. He's made it through two Texas summers of 100+F, and he's making it now through this winter weather that's more like Minnesota than Texas. He's some strong little bird, who someone thought was going to be their caged in pet before he showed them in the pet store parking lot that he had other plans. 😄 But, he can't make it entirely on his own. He can't eat at just anyone's feeder with any kind of seed. His beak is too small for most other seeds. He has to have seed with mostly millet in it, and that's what I keep stocked here just for him, even though it costs much more than the basic bird seed.

Lily Meets Snowy

Reptile Rescue
Water Lily is a juvenile Brown Chinese goose, rescued and relocated from a bad spot he was dumped in last year, where there were no other domestic geese for him to flock with. He is now part of one small flock I moved him to, where I care for him daily. I brought him into the rescue a few days ago just before the worst of the below zero temperatures arrived with the arctic storm. The snow was blowing in sideways, it was already near zero, and the roads were becoming difficult to pass, but I went out into it to safeguard Water Lily, because he's my responsibility now. The other geese would not have let me catch them, and I only had space for 2.
Snowy is a male White Chinese goose who lives at a lake in a different location, where I have cared for him for 5 or 6 years. He actually came here into rehab for an infected foot a week or so before the storm. It's his second time here for rehab for the same condition. He was here last almost exactly 2 years ago, in 2018. He and Lily have never met before, because I care for them as part of separate flocks in separate locations.

Watch Lily Goose, Happy To Be Home Again! ^_^

Reptile Rescue
I release Lily back to the place that has been her new home, since I rescued/relocated her here in the Fall. When the arctic blizzard conditions came last week, with below 0F temps and snow, I scooped Lily up and took her into safe keeping at the rescue. I couldn't house and protect all the geese I care for, but Lily is my chief responsibility because I put her here myself. I recovered the bodies of many other birds who did not survive this arctic weather, that was last seen here 75 years ago. Lily's pond here did not completely thaw until just the day before I released her, and only after several days of above 60F temps, and one day of 80F.

Goose Sleeps, Waits For Me ^_^

Reptile Rescue
Snowy sleeps contently just outside my back window, waiting on me to appear. When he sees me, he slowly wakes and is shaking off his sleepy head ^_^
I would like to release him back to the lake because he has been here over a month, but his leg is still swollen and sometimes hurting him. I see him holding it up against his body when standing, and he never does with the other, so I will have to begin another kind of treatment to try to get better results this time. Last time I treated him for this condition, two years ago this past Christmas, it was also very stubborn and required a month of being on a rotation using THREE antibiotics and anti-inflammatory before he was good enough to release. Predictably, it's even more stubborn to treat this time...

Returning Stolen Goose Egg To Its Mom

Reptile Rescue
Canada geese can be very protective of their nests, but some children visiting this park chased them away by screaming at them and throwing objects at them until they had run them off the island and were able to raid the nest and steal her egg. One of the boys responsible was threatening to break the egg or throw it in the pond, but another child was able to get the egg away from him undamaged, and put it behind the concrete slab. This wasn't back in the nest where they had found it, but at least it was undamaged when I was able to catch up to them and ask what they did with it. Mom was happy to have her egg returned, and she had laid a second one after the first was stolen the day before. As of a week later, she has laid 5 so far. Baby gooses should follow in about 3 weeks. 😄
Wild migratory birds, like Canada geese, are protected by the Migratory Bird Treaty Act, which makes it a federal crime to do what these children in fact did. In this case, I was happy to be able to return her egg to her while it was likely still unharmed and will be able to hatch.

Bad Chicken!

Reptile Rescue
My rescue baby hens, saved as chicks from the feed store when they were close to death and the store gave them up to me to see if I could save them. Of the 7 chicks that I brought home who had been shipped to the store during cold weather and fell ill, only these two survived. 😞 Brownie is believed to be a Belgian Mille Fleur d’Uccle & Silkie mix, and Cry Baby is a Bantam of some kind. I'm not quite a chicken expert yet. From what I have read of the Mille Fleur d’Uccle breed they have big personalities and are affectionate, quiet, seek attention and enjoy being held. That very much describes Brownie and they are said to be the perfect pet chicken.

Baby Goose Seen Moving Inside Egg! 😲

Reptile Rescue
Several Canada goose eggs were orphaned when their mother abandoned her nest after a nearby fireworks display caused her to flee in fear. I placed them with another nesting goose who accepted them, but they were by that time more behind on development than her own eggs, and they were not ready to hatch by the time her other ones had hatched a few days ago. After they were again abandoned by the second mother, I brought them home to attempt to complete the incubation, and first candled them to see if the goslings inside were well developed and if they were alive. Movement could be seen in 3 of the eggs, but they appear to still be days away from being ready to hatch. 😄 Fingers crossed. 🤞🏻

🐔 Saving Sneaky Pete, The Feral Running Roo

Reptile Rescue
Pete, a Bantam roo, was reportedly living feral outside of the IHOP on SW Pkwy in WIchita Falls for more than a month. He would stroll between the IHOP and the Texoma Community Credit Union parking lots during the day as his territory, and the credit union staff would often feed him. Animal control attempted several times to catch him, and thankfully were unsuccessful, because roosters aren't allowed in the city and they have a reputation for killing them if they can catch them. Myself and a local fan decided to attempt rescue before he could be caught by animal control, or he was hit by a car or something. But trying to capture him in the daytime wasn't successful because he was too alert and active, and the area was too busy to have room to corner him. I decided to abort the attempts before he was harmed, and come back at night after I discovered where he was sleeping. I began leaving dried mealworms under the tree he roosted in, and I got familiar with his sleeping routine and returned one night to nab him. He is now already with his new home, with the local fan who first told me about his ordeal. She lives way outside of town near Seymour and she had been wanting to start keeping chickens anyway. No better time than right now, and to start out getting your roo established, and then bring him some girls to protect soon. 🐔❤

I release an orphaned young Mallard earlier in the year into his mother's home lake, after he'd gotten old enough to make it on his own. Feral Parakeet Living Wild in Texas (3rd Year) ❤

Reptile Rescue
Good news for my little Blue Boy feral parakeet! 🙂 He's still alive and going strong out here in the Texas summer 100+F heat, and after surviving even the Winter-zilla arctic storm where temps locally dropped to -7F and were at or below zero for 3 nights! Other bigger and more cold adapted birds like owls, mallard ducks, pigeons, and doves died - some of them right on my porch - but this little boy emerged after the snow melted and was back at my feeder again after going missing for a while and leaving me lamenting that he did not survive. But, he survives his 3rd summer in Texas, and going into his 3rd winter this year!

😲 Long Lost Buddy Returns! ❤

Reptile Rescue
Buddy, a Canada Goose whom I rehabilitated a little over a year ago, soon went missing after he was released, and I presumed him dead.
For a long time afterward when I would come here, my heart hurt that he was so friendly and went through so much, and I thought he was now dead after all my efforts. But it gave me great joy to learn that he is still alive and that he's now back! It was quite a shock to see him again after being missing for so long.

😄 See A Farm Goose (Toulouse) Who FLIES With His Family ❤

Reptile Rescue
Sir Hillary is a domesticated Toulouse goose. For several years he lived every day at a pond, at the city park on the river. But, last year he decided to have a family with a wild Canada goose. He was always so sad when the babies, who are half Canada goose, learned to fly at about 4-5 months old, and would fly away with the flock and leave him alone here. 😢 At first, his mate would stay here with him, but eventually, even she began flying away with the rest of the Canada geese to spend the night elsewhere. When they would take off, Sir Hillary ran along the ground after them, wings outstretched, and he would cry and cry so sadly as they disappeared over the horizon. Sometimes they would be gone for several days at a time. "Sir" was so depressed and not interesting in eating or being social with anyone when he was left behind. He would just sit by the shore and wait for them, scanning the sky and calling at any passing geese, hoping they might be his family. Sir didn't yet know that he could fly. He'd never had to. His breed of goose is used to living on farms, and have a heavier build, and they usually don't fly at all. But, Sir got tired of being lonely and missing his babies! So, one day, he decided to try to fly, and he discovered that he could fly! ❤ Now, Sir Hillary flies all around the river, between the city park, this private park, and other locations with his family, and he is very happy. 🙂
Last Spring (2020), he had a total of 4 babies, but one was just weeks old when it was reported stolen by children at the city park, and is presumed dead. A second one disappeared that Winter, several months after reaching flying age, and has not been seen in almost a year. This year, he and his mate hatched a total of 6 babies, and all 6 made it and are flying with him today. His two surviving 1-year-olds from last year are still with him today too, and they helped to protect their younger siblings this year. In total, they are a family of 10, and Sir Hillary now has his own little flock all to himself. Two years ago, he only had two other goose friends that had lived with him at the park for several years after being dumped there. Now he has a great big family of his own ❤
In the first seconds of the video, after "C'mon Hillary" and before "Come here girl", as they fly over you can hear him call back to me a single time, to let me know he's coming. His call is different than the familiar honking of the Canada geese in the background. This video was also taken at a time when it was still believed that "Sir" was a female. It was later proven that Sir was indeed the gander of the couple. He had initially been named "Hillary" by the owner of the RV park, to which I then amended to "Sir Hillary".

A Skunk Visits

Reptile Rescue
This is what I consider a "resident" skunk, because he visits all the time for food, and I've been very close to him. A couple of nights ago, I was walking across the porch to go out, and before I had reached the motion activated security light, I saw a small dark shadow move right underneath me. The security light then came on, and I saw it was the resident skunk visitor on the porch, trying to get into a bag of turtle food. I was, literally, not figuratively, within a foot, as in 12 inches of him. He raised his tail but he did not spray or stamp his feet. I talked to him calmly and welcomed him, and he lowered his tail and I let him go about his way. Because he's passed very close to me before and knows my voice, he did not panic, although I would have stepped on him with the very next step. He just trusted that I wouldn't hurt him. I put food out for him and he came back shortly after and ate it. ❤

🕊 Rescue Pigeon Talks and Struts ❤

Reptile Rescue
Sanctuary/Rescued wild pigeon who lost half of his right wing a few years ago, probably hit by a car, and was trying to survive on the streets, hiding from cats at night behind some old tires. The shop owner where he was taking refuge told us about him and described him as a "black" bird. He did indeed look like a black phase pigeon when he was rescued, but that was only because he was covered in weeks worth of tire soot and old motor oil that had soaked into every single feather. After a couple of careful dish soap washings though, he turned out to be a normal Blue Bar pigeon. Since he can't fly anymore, he has to stay here at the rescue now. But, he's happy to be alive, and still does other normal pigeon things. ❤

Geese Rush To Be Fed (Lily & Maui) ❤

Reptile Rescue
Lily (Chinese goose) and Maui (juvenile Canada goose) are both rescues of mine, who live as wild, but I see them every day. Lily was removed from another pond in Iowa Park, where the city was killing all the geese there, and only Lily was left all alone. Maui was rescued when still in his egg, incubated for over a month, hatched, raised at home, and socialized in the wild by Lily on daily visits from the time he was only days old, and released when he was 5 months old. As of March 2022, he's now been living 6 months in the wild. ❤

After tube feeding of Kaytee Exact hand feeding formula, he seems interesting in looking for something on the counter to peck at, as he is just learning to forage now, so I put down a little chick starter, and then some millet seed...but he wasn't interested yet. It won't be long though, and he'll be feeding himself and ready to fly away into the wild. 🕊 ❤

𝐿𝐼𝐿𝒴 & 𝑀𝒜𝒰𝐼 🦢 ❤

Reptile Rescue
My rescue geese, Lily (Chinese goose) and Maui (Canada goose). Lily was dumped at a lake when just a juvenile and first thought to be female, but turned out to be male after growing up. I rescued him because he was all alone on Gordon Lake in Iowa Park, Tx, where scumbags of the city and state kill all the geese there from time to time. Maui's nest was abandoned by her mother, who flew away after being terrified away by fireworks that are allowed in the city of Wichita Falls, on the campus of Midwestern State University. She never came back, so I rescued her egg, incubated her, hatched her, raised her for 5 months, and then let her go. She made best friends with Lily, and Maui now lives as a wild goose.

🦢Checking in on Jeffery @Smith's Gardentown

Reptile Rescue
Poor Jeffery recently lost his mate due to possible predation, or was stolen by someone, and he hasn't been the same since. He was frustrated being alone and was misbehaving. Smith's posted on social media about his plight and it was passed to me by a couple of my fans. Having a lot of experience with geese, I decided to check in on Jeffery and see if there was anything I could do to help. I was about to be quite surprised to learn, that I was already a part of this goose's story from the past. Watch and find out how my previous intervention affected the trajectory of his life, that eventually brought him here.

🕊 Rescue Pigeon Takes a Bath 🕊

Reptile Rescue
Our flightless resident pigeon, Proud Boy, often enjoys just climbing right into the water bowl and floating like a duck. 😄 He lost half of his right wing several years ago when it's suspected that he was hit by a car. He lived for weeks trying to evade feral cats by hiding in a stack of old tires, which turned his feathers completely black.

Update on the Jeffery Situation 🦢🦢

Reptile Rescue
Smith's Garden Town received quite a bit of sympathy on social media when they posted about Jeffery's missing mate. Being well experienced with domestic geese, I went by to offer advice on preventing a recurrence and keeping Jeffery safe in the future from either predation, or theft. They did not follow my advice to provide a kennel or enclosure of some kind to secure the geese after dark/closing. They have since acquired a new replacement mate for Jeffery, but without implementing safety changes to prevent a repeat of the fate that took his first mate. You simply cannot leave domestic fowl out at night like this, especially in a place such as this without lighting and no one present after hours to respond to their cries for help...IF you expect them to survive long. I have determined that for animal welfare reasons, it is best to now say this publicly, in hopes that they will still choose to do the right thing, and take steps to protect their domestic fowl after dark, as any good owner would be expected to do. They are not just ornate pond fixtures. They have lives, and you're responsible for protecting them. At the least, they should install bright enough security lighting to allow the geese a chance to see any predators trying to sneak up on them before it's too late. I take care of numerous domestic geese and ducks in this area who have been dumped at numerous parks and lakes by owners who no longer want them, and there is a much shortened life expectancy for these birds where they live in proximity to areas frequented by coyotes and bobcats, as Jeffery and his mate do.

🐥𝐵𝒶𝒷𝓎 𝒢𝑜𝑜𝓈𝑒 𝒮𝑒𝑒𝓃 𝑀𝑜𝓋𝒾𝓃𝑔 𝐼𝓃𝓈𝒾𝒹𝑒 𝐸𝑔𝑔!😲

Reptile Rescue
(2019) Several Canada goose eggs were orphaned when their mother abandoned her nest after a nearby fireworks display caused her to flee in fear. I placed them with another nesting goose who accepted them, but they were by that time more behind on development than her own eggs, and they were not ready to hatch by the time her other ones had hatched a few days later. After they were again abandoned by the second mother, I brought them home to attempt to complete the incubation, and first candled them to see if the goslings inside were well developed and if they were alive.
Please give, and help provide medical care and sanctuary for wildlife and many exotic animals who have no one else to help them. This rescue is funded entirely on donations, and what comes from my own pocket. There are no government grants and no corporate sponsors. Just myself and a few donors who believe in my work.

Feral Duck with Broken Leg 😥

Reptile Rescue
The duck received flunixin initially for pain and inflammation and will soon be switched to meloxicam because it is safer in birds for extended use than flunixin. Prophylactic antibiotics are also likely, and I will also use what I have used with success in the past with a broken femur rehab in a goose, which is the peptide BPC -157. I also intend, based on some info I received from another rehabber, to try a topical application of a comfrey containing ointment, which has reported benefits in bone healing.

Rescued & Relocated Sweet Goose ^_^

This is Lily, a rescued and relocated female Chinese goose. She was dumped, alone, at local lake that was not a goose friendly or safe location for her. I brought her to another location about 10 miles closer where there are other geese for her to socialize with, and where I can check on her every day. You can help animals like Lily by making a donation today.
