How to attach photos to events

Why is it so messy in the event type list? Because at one point people were allowed to add new special events (in case they weren't already added) however people abused that right and added even the already existing events. Thus the repeating names. We have disabled this option now but we can't delete the already existing events because then photos would become unattached. We are slowly working on fixing this mess.
