Small intestinal bacterial overgrowth (SIBO) is an issue Dr. J sees every day in his patients. It gets really tricky when you are trying to address SIBO and knowing what specific steps need to be taken and in what order to get to the root cause so you can heal an recover with the least amount of stress.

The first place to start with any SIBO issue is with the diet. The diet is an important piece as it can reduce the feeding of the bad bacteria, (removing FODMAPS) and help reduce inflammation as well. The next step is to address the gut, when it comes to the gut there could be many issues at play. There could be deeper infections outside of SIBO where if not addressed the SIBO may hang around. Parasitic and deeper bacterial infections take precedence over SIBO as they have enough potential to throw off the bacterial balance by themselves.
