Repairing an Auto-siphon: Replacing the Stopper (or fluttering clip)

Fixing a beer, wine, or mead auto siphon when the stopper, also known as a fluttering clip, falls out. The stopper, or fluttering clip, is a small piece found inside the bottom end (o-ring) of the siphon tube.
