Before the Angels call is about trying to find fulfillment in worldly things and coming up empty. It's about chasing ghosts instead of looking to the Holy Ghost! People are looking for heaven on earth, while not looking to the One Who can facilitate that dual citizenship. There are people who demand proof, and even if an angel were to speak to them personally they'd still reject it. At some point not even seeing is believing. This song is about believing what the Lord has told us and done for us, and It doesn't take an angel to come call it out to us for us to accept the truth. We get it.
