Single Coil Statoriess Motor with Photoresistor Feedback
This is a permanent magnet DC motor without the permanent magnets but instead uses the Earth as its permanent magnet.
It took about 2 minutes to set the timing by placing the light which shines on the photoresistors as feedback after the power was turned on from the two in series 9 volt batteries.
It spun a little faster than seen here for about 2 or 3 minutes before the video of it started. So all told it could run for about 5 to 8 minutes on a fresh set of batteries.
Care was taken in the use of 9 volt batteries since they aren't designed to supply a load of 2 amps and they did get hot. Perhaps a future version could run much faster and for a longer time while improving the safety by using Li Po batteries.
This is a scaled down version of a similar model from about 4 years ago that used relays. This version is governed by photoresistors.
Stay tuned:)
