【121】無意味なPCR検査は早くやめたほうが良い - 大橋眞

今回の騒動の原因はPCR検査です。PCR検査は遺伝子の断片を調べるものであり、病原体を調べるものではありません。病原体にも遺伝子があるために、この遺伝子の断片を見ることは病原体を検出することになるという考え方から、PCR検査を充実させるという政治的な動きになっているようです。　
　しかしこの考え方には、根本的な間違いがあります。しかし、その間違いに気づきにくいのかも知れません。遺伝子―タンパク質ー微生物ー病原体の流れは、一つの線上に並んでいるわけではないのです。もし、仮にこれらの要素が一直線上に並んでいるのなら、遺伝子の断片を調べるPCR検査が、病原体の検査に使えるかもしれません。しかし、今回の場合は、複数に分岐することや、そもそも一列に並べるべきものかどうかもよくわかっていません。前者は、遺伝子変異の問題などがあり、後者は病原性の問題や、遺伝子断片からは全体像の保証がないことなどが考えられます。
　このような問題点を整理して、冷静になって考えてみる必要があります。このようなミクロの世界を知る方法には限界があります。そもそも未知なるミクロの世界の問題をPCR法でアプローチすることには、研究レベルであっても危険性が大きいのです。まして、臨床医学の分野で、いきなりPCR検査をやって、何の意味があるのか、だれも把握していないのではないでしょうか。遺伝子―タンパク質ー病原体ー疫学のラインを今一度整理して、考える必要があります。

It is necessary to sort out such problems and think calmly. There is a limit to how to know such a micro world. At the research level, there is a great danger in approaching the problems of the unknown micro world by the PCR method in the first place. Moreover, in the field of clinical medicine, it seems that no one knows what it means by suddenly performing a PCR test. The gene-protein-pathogen-epidemiology line needs to be reorganized and considered.
