Lovin’ The Outdoors

When James opens the door for these two-week old chicks to go outside, it looks a bit like when the doors are opened for Black Friday sales with all the excitement and anticipation. Only these guys are patient and considerate of each other.

It’s going to be interesting to see how this batch of broilers grows because they’ve had access to the outside since day one. Usually, the chicks are kept under heat lamps for the first couple of weeks to keep them warm. But this summer has been so hot, they’ve been running around outside since we received them.

James has been taking good care of his birds and it shows. They are growing well and certainly look healthy and happy. And spreading their wings!
