To See Truth

To see the truth and walk in it is a rare gift, and walking in the truth requires commitment and discipline. If we expect goodness and truth to be inseparable from certain feelings, which is how the world trains us to think, then the absence of such feelings can cause us to ignore truth and reject it altogether. Thus, sometimes the good work of a prophet is simply to awaken our minds to basic facts that we might otherwise ignore. As we study the prophetic life of Anna, who is found in Luke 2:22-38 at the Presentation of Jesus at the Temple, we can see how a disciplined life can help us see and speak truth in the world around us.
