This video explores the consequences of ethical and social decisions of turn-of-the-century science and medicine. The crimes committed by Hitler's National Socialist government were very much the product of a generation intent on discarding traditional morality. The Holocaust was distinctly the result of generations of scientist aspiring to "rationally" direct human breeding. These scientists and their supportive social thinkers and legislators were pushing for their utopian dreams for generations prior to Adolf Hitler, and the resulting "Holocaust" was more predictable than historians would like to admit. Academic research into the source of Nazism's eugenic legislation reveals that it was the German scientists that taught Hitler about eugenics and "racial hygiene," and not the other way around. It was Hitler's publisher, J.F. Lehmann that brought him scientific texts on German eugenics while Hitler was writing "Mein Kampf."
