Boat hits the Rocks at Haulover

A boat running in to Haulover loses power and drifts towards the rocks and hits them!

It appears that the boat in distress waited too late to request help from other boaters. Many boats run by them as they are drifting, but the other boats assume that the drifting boat is either fishing or hanging out (which is not unusual) as no signal of distress is being made. It should be noted that I've seen quite a few boats in distress at Haulover Inlet and as soon as a boat signals for help, other boaters respond right away and problems rarely get this bad. Good news is the boat appeared to only have minor damage and no injuries and we all get to learn from this event. If you've lost power at the entrance to an inlet, don't wait to signal for help!
