Both Marilyn and Ava both have had pleasant and unpleasant experiences with men, both reacted in a different way towards men based on their child hood.

Marilyn was encouraged to achieve what she wanted by looking at how men achieved what they wanted and did exactly the same.

Ava on the contrary had a love-hate relationship with men and would give what they were giving her. Even when it came to physical abuse. And Ava giving advice to women.
