Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves. (Examined your choices in contrast to your goals)
Admitted to God, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our wrongs. (Explored how these choices prevented you from achieving the life you want)
Were entirely ready to have God remove all these defects of character. (Were ready to begin making choices with the future in mind instead of based on immediate gratification)
