Magnetic Powered Boat 3 Inches In Diameter Using Servo, Arduino Nano and IR Remote
4 years ago
99
This model uses a 1/8 by 1 1/2 inch N42 neodymium magnet. It is built in a 3 inch by 2 inch deep aluminum pan and tested in a 12 inch aluminum pan full of water.
A 9 volt battery powers and Arduino Nano, 9g Servo and IR receiver to turn the magnet so that the compass action makes the boat turn.
Since the point of compass rotation and the center of mass of the little boat are competing the true center of rotation is not at the center of mass and the rotation caused by the large compass translates to linear motion.
Stay tuned:)
