Mark of the Beast Part 2: Who Is the Beast?

The phrase "Then I saw another beast which rose out of the earth" (Rev. 13) is not used for the first time in Revelation. The same phrase is used in the book of Daniel, which details a whole sequence of beasts, explains that these beasts are historical empires that are allowed to rule over God's people. Daniel's beasts correspond to Old Testament kingdoms who occupy the land of Israel. John's beasts describe the empires which rule over the Christians. Allowing the Bible to interpret the Bible, we are able to put together the puzzle pieces of Revelation and see the prophetic picture that describes these last days in which we are living.
