Democrats Use IRS To Target Conservatives...Again

A senate Democrat wants to strip the conservative group Turning Point USA - of its tax-exempt status for the most ridiculous reason! With today's ALG Minute, I'm Catherine Mortensen. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse wants to punish the conservative student organization because because it held large gatherings that he's calling COVID super spreader events. In a letter to the head of the IRS, Whitehouse wrote: Turning Point USA’s reckless decision to host potential ‘superspreader’ events, in open violation of local COVID-19 regulations, put children and others at risk, and was clearly contrary to the public good. Senator Whitehouse was also the man behind the Obama IRS push to single out groups with conservative-sounding terms such as “patriot” and “Tea Party” in their titles when applying for tax-exempt benefits. This is just another attempt to cancel and silence the voices of conservatives. Oh - and Whitehouse added one more charge against Turning Point -- it “has cultivated close ties to President Trump and the Trump family.”
