Freedom in Christ - January 17, 2021

Jesus came to set us free through his words of truth and through faith in him as the Savior of the world! When he shared this with the Jews, they took his words literally and wondered what he was talking about since they were not living in slavery. But Jesus was not talking about physical or political freedom. He was talking about spiritual, inner freedom. He came to set us free from slavery to sin and from the condemnation of the Old Testament law. He came to set us free to be the persons God always intended us to be. Everyone is a slave to sin until Jesus sets them free. And no man can take away the freedom that Jesus gives.
