Chasing Rainbows

Using the events from "My Mister" to create a snapshot of what Ji-An's life was like before the series began; it seemed to have been a cycle of "struggle, survive, hope, endure, despair, run". Though many of the events are obviously unique and could not happen multiple times, they represent moments of similar tone that would repeat over and over...until someone was finally kind to her four times.

Vincent Blue's song from the series, "Rainbow", seems to perfectly express the weariness and pain of such a cycle, making Ji-An's calloused yearning for simple comfort all the more heart-wrenching.

The footage order and selection were built around the song--at least what I could discern from the translations. It mostly reflects the tone early on in the show, though it does use some footage from later episodes to complete the imagined cycle.
