			Pasteurize Hardwood Sawdust for Shiitake Mushroom Mycobags
Here is a brief How-To prepare and pasteurize sawdust for use as a bulk substrate in Shiitake, Reishi, Lion's Mane, Oyster (Pleurotus genus) species, and many other wood-decomposing gourmet or medicinal mushroom species.
In this video I am hydrating hardwood sawdust which I can obtain freely at a local cabinet maker. They literally just throw it in a dumpster and waste perfectly awesome hardwood!! From that perspective, this is also a recycling and repurposing project which produces food and medicine from materials designated as worthless by people who just don't know any better.
If this and other tutorials help people accomplish anything, I hope above all, they inspire viewers to research and find new sources of reuseable and safe materials for mushroom cultivation. We could help feed the world with pennies per pound of mushroom yields.
I have quite a bit of homework to finish today for college but I will come back and update this with a clear list of steps and materials needed.
