The Pearl of Great Price is one of four writings the LDS church believes in as authoritative, but much can be said about the contradictions, inconsistencies, and unorthodox teachings to show how it is not a revelation of God given to a man in the 1800s, but rather a work of man to influence, deceive many into following a religion of his own.
