Who Was King Lemuel?
90 & Out is dedicated to the public reading of the Christian Bible.
This is the first video in a series covering Proverbs 31. Verses one through three are read and discussed in this video. The New King James Version was used for the reading.
King Lemuel is not listed in the Chronicles or the Kings as a king of Judah or Israel, either United nor divided. Lemuel means "one who belongs to God" or "belonging to God". It has been speculated Proverbs 31 was written by Bathsheba to King Solomon. King Solomon has often been referred to as belonging to God, but there is no concrete historical evidence for this speculation.
Right off the bat, the mother cautions her son concerning women and the destruction of kings.
Don't take my word for it. Pick it up and read it for yourself.
