Breed of English origin, it is the result of the crossing undertaken at the end of the 18th century between NORFOLK ewes and SOUTHDOWN rams.
this breed has distinctive black legs and renowned for their crossbreeding potential and lean meat, the Suffolks were recognized as a purebred in 1859. Since then they have been exported around the world and are found throughout Britain and Ireland.
