365 Days Review
365 Days is a non-fiction book about the US war in Vietnam written by Ronald J Glasser, MD. He was a major in the Army Medical Corps during the war. This book is made up of 17 chapters which could be read individually without reading the book in its entirety. Stylistically the author does a great job in transitioning between ideas within a chapters. For instance in chapter ten he’s able to describe through a psychiatrist’s perspective the history of psychiatry within the army throughout time and what it is now and apply it to patients at that time with a story of a patient who needed his attention. The book is filled with examples of seamless transitions like this.
Glasser was able to detach himself a bit from it all. We can see his perspective about the war, but there’s still a degree of objectivity throughout. Perhaps I lack in the research part of all this, but I’m curious about how he came across all stories.
This is the first video I’ve actually rerecorded. Originally I think I recorded me reviewing 6 chapters instead of 3. I still feel this video is a little too long. I suppose I’m still getting the hang of this.
