There are those who try to taint the history and the honor of our Founding Fathers. The opposers to use our Constitution's state convention clause in Article V spew a delusional and dysfunctional argument. They say that when our great country was just starting, they had set up a government with the Articles Of Confederation.

This government had its problems so in May 1787, a convention was called and took place in Philadelphia... to that point they are correct, but here is where their facts go astray.

They say that the reason they were to meet was to "correct the problems of the Articles Of Confederation" and instead they exceeded their authority and destroyed the Articles... and we were lucky because they gave us our great Constitution... like a Hollywood McGuffin... the central characters did bad things, but for good reason, so all is well...
