Fixing Dracula Untold - Re-Watch and Re-Imagining Speculation

I don't want to just complain about the failed attempts by Universal to reboot their monster-verse; what they called to their Dark Universe. I want to imagine how it could have been if they had started with a plan; one based on honoring what had gone before, the source material, and building to something. I created a group on MeWe for the community to discuss ideas of how we would like to see it happen, and it has been very well received. After a live YouTube discussion on the topic a few weeks ago, several of the contributors suggested a rewatch of Dracula Untold to talk about "fixing" it. And here we are.
