In the mid-19th century, a shadowy figure appeared in rural France that offered young servant girls the chance of a lifetime. What they received for their gullibility was their names being added to a list of the missing and dead. Martin Dumollard went down in history as Le Vampire de Lyons. But what really occurred was criminologists and historians mislabeling the grotesque human as France’s first serial killer.
