Today, Bishop Charles E. Blake, Sr. is the Senior Pastor of the 26,000 member of the West Angeles Church of God In Christ (http://westa.org​) in Los Angeles. Bishop Blake is the fifth (5th) Presiding Bishop and the seventh (7th) leader in succession, appointed in November 2007 by the General Assembly of the Church of God in Christ (http://cogic.org​).

The COGIC denomination is also a member of the Congress of National Black Churches (http://thecnbc.org​). The CNBC is currently comprised of the national leadership of eight Black denominations that have a combined membership of over 20 million people and 30,000 congregations in the United States. The CNBC uses the influence and power of the leadership of the historically Black denominations to serve as a critical educational, organizational base, voice and influence to advocate for African Americans.
