The Last Blind Woman Standing

When I initially awoke and discovered that I was blind, I was immediately overwhelmed by a feeling of intense weariness. How was I going to live the rest of my days like this? This feeling lasted every second of every day from the moment I awoke in the hospital in 1989 until the day I finally walked out of court in January of 2012.
