Rise up in Victory
In Mark 10:47-48 the blind man Bartimaeus is calling out for mercy, and Jesus shows us how Godly compassion responds to a situation. Christ does not encourage Bartimaeus to remain in his state of wailing, but rather commands him to boldly rise up and answer God’s call to virtue. This is the victorious and hope-filled compassion of God, for God desires we rise up with eternal life in Him.
