Park Named for Dog Named “Pitbull”

The park was named after the German Shepherd dog. Pitbull, however, has never been a German Shepherd, so the playground was renamed.

“Everyone’s pet and pet is beloved, so for a play structure to be named after a person and a dog, it’s not really logical that they would put a dog at the bottom of the playground,” Britney Hunter, a parent, said.

Is this a sign of America’s dog-loving society or just the product of a few people who can’t bear the idea of a play structure named after a vicious dog?
