DESCRIPTION:

The BCS 2014 Leadership Initiative at the Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center in Washington, D.C. The BCS is the perennial gathering in the nation, aligning America’s leading conservative clergy, lawmakers, community leaders and Christian activists with a biblical worldview from across the country. Here Walter is talking about the Pro-Life movement in Black America, the Issues4Life Foundation, Dr. Benjamin Solomon "Ben" Carson Sr. and his thoughts on the 2016 Presidential Campaign.

FREEDOM JOURNAL INSTITUTE:

The Freedom's Journal Institute for the Study of Faith and Public Policy sponsored the 2014 Black Conservative Summit's Leadership Initiative (http://youtu.be/It1uBVoehcg).

Vision: Proclaiming good news to the poor (Luke 4:18; Acts 26:18)

Mission: Devoted to research, education, and the advancement of public policy that promotes Responsible government, Individual liberty and fidelity, Strong Family Values, and Economic Empowerment (R.I.S.E Principles) in the urban community from a biblical perspective.

Values: Our work is based on biblical principles and values that aim at faithfulness to Christ’s mission articulated in Luke 4:18 and Acts 26:18. We believe that the gospel message has political and public policy implications, which underscore our responsibility to “proclaiming freedom for the prisoners, recovery of sight for the blind, and releasing the oppressed.”

Goals: Our aim is to create a “paradigm shift” in the way people, in general, and the African American populace, in particular, view matters of faith, race and public policy. FJI pledges to vigorously challenge “liberal” idealogy with those conservative principles, such as the R.I.S.E Principles, essential to promoting and sustaining a stable and prosperous family and society.
