The Methodist church in Peoria passes out food to those needing it every Saturday. We show up to present the Gospel.

Resistance from church leadership seems to have reversed. You'd think they'd welcome the gospel. For a long time, they did not.

Providing physical food is a good thing but to merely feed the body and not present food for the soul that saves is what Jesus rebuked the masses for in John 6. He fed them but when it was just about getting physical food, he rebuked them.

The same goes for churches that feed the body and ignore the soul. But, again, we are thankful that the viewpoint of the leaders there is changing.
