As pandemics go, the COVID pandemic was mild in comparison to pandemics of the past, and what could come in the future. When prepping outside the box, it's crucial to imagine a pandemic that acutely deserved the government response that this one got.

The next pandemic after COVID 19, with just a fractionally higher mortality rate, would overwhelm hospitals, affect supply lines, and throw society into chaos. While this is something that some people had a passing interest in, it's something we should be concerned with in the future.
