New Zealand has upset its partners in the Five Eyes global spy alliance by not joining recent pile-ons aimed at China. New Zealand says it's because spies shouldn't be talking about human rights, but it's probably more to do with the fact that Beijing represents 29% of its trade, and principles cost money.
