Alaska Prince William Sound Halibut

Beautiful Prince William Sound in South Central Alaska. Memorial Day weekend Four days exploring and not a cloud in the sky the entire time. On this day Mike hooked into a sizable Halibut while casting a Pixie (Salmon Lure) while on the fishing bridge on top of the boat. Normally fisherman will shoot these fish to prevent broken legs before the fish are brought onto a deck. The Prized Halibut Fishing Derby in Whittier, AK was on for the weekend and disqualification resulted if your entry submission had any gun shot wounds. All of this was unfolding as the strong tide was on it's way out and the Cabin Cruiser was anchored taking us us further away in the raft.
